Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has reportedly shut down the new cooking show ‘Drag Kitchen’ due to objections from Whoopi Goldberg. The show featured drag queens cooking up a storm in the kitchen while dressed in their most glamorous attire.
According to sources close to Ramsay, Goldberg was “appalled” by the show’s premise and expressed her concern that it was making a mockery of the art of cooking. Ramsay, who is known for his fiery temper, allegedly didn’t take kindly to Goldberg’s criticism and promptly pulled the plug on the show.
“Who the hell does Whoopi Goldberg think she is?” Ramsay reportedly shouted at a producer. “She’s not even a chef! How dare she tell me what’s good for television? I’m the f**king king of the kitchen!”
Goldberg, who is a self-professed foodie and has her own cookbook, has not yet commented on the controversy. However, her representatives have confirmed that she was “disappointed” by the cancellation of the show.
Fans of ‘Drag Kitchen’ have taken to social media to express their outrage at Ramsay’s decision. Many have accused him of being closed-minded and homophobic, while others have vowed to boycott his restaurants.
Ramsay, for his part, remains unapologetic. “I stand by my decision,” he said in a statement. “I’m not going to let some Hollywood actress tell me what’s funny or entertaining. I have a reputation to uphold, and I won’t compromise on that.”
Whether or not ‘Drag Kitchen’ will make a comeback remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure – Gordon Ramsay won’t be backing down anytime soon.
