In a shocking move, Roseanne Barr, creator and former star of the hit show “Roseanne,” has reportedly fired the entire cast of the spinoff series “The Conners” except for John Goodman.
According to insiders, Barr decided it was time for a “new story” and that the rest of the cast had outlived their usefulness.
“Let’s face it, the show was never really about those other people,” Barr allegedly said in a statement. “It was always about me and John. So why not just cut out the dead weight and focus on what really matters?”
Fans of “The Conners” are understandably outraged by Barr’s decision. Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with some calling for a boycott of the show.
“I can’t believe she would do this,” said longtime fan Karen Johnson. “The rest of the cast was just as important as John. How could she be so heartless?”
Despite the backlash, Goodman has remained tight-lipped about the situation. When asked for comment, he simply shrugged and said, “Hey, I’m still getting a paycheck. What do I care?”
Barr’s move is reminiscent of the time she famously fired her TV husband, played by Goodman, in the original “Roseanne” series. But this time, it seems, she’s taking things to a whole new level.
“I guess Roseanne really does believe in second chances,” said one industry insider. “She’s giving herself another chance to ruin a perfectly good show.”
