Fox News host Sean Hannity has filed a $10 million lawsuit against adult film actress Stormy Daniels, claiming that she included him in her recent book without his consent.
In his lawsuit, Hannity alleges that Daniels’ book, “Full Disclosure,” includes defamatory statements about him.
Specifically, Hannity takes issue with a passage in which Daniels describes an alleged sexual encounter with President Trump, in which Hannity is mentioned as being present.
“She should have left me out of it,” Hannity said in a statement. “I have nothing to do with her or her salacious allegations. This is just another attempt to smear my reputation and I won’t stand for it.”
Legal experts have noted that it may be difficult for Hannity to prove that he has suffered any actual damages as a result of the book, given that he is a public figure and the book has not been widely read.
Furthermore, some have questioned Hannity’s decision to file the lawsuit, given his long history of defending President Trump and attacking those who have spoken out against him.
“Hannity has made a career out of attacking people who he feels have defamed the president or his allies,” said legal analyst Alan Dershowitz. “It’s ironic that he’s now the one crying foul over a few lines in a book.”
Regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit, it is clear that the controversy surrounding Stormy Daniels and President Trump shows no signs of abating. And as for Hannity, he seems to have found yet another way to keep himself in the news cycle.
