Blake Shelton has allegedly opened up about a music video he once filmed with Jelly Roll, describing the nearly 10-day production as one of the most frustrating experiences of his career.
According to Shelton, the project eventually had to be abandoned because Jelly Roll struggled so badly during filming that the finished video was never produced.
“That was probably the most grueling 10 days of my life,” Shelton said. “Jelly Roll had such a hard time filming that we had to scrap the whole thing altogether. I guess I should have known better than what I was getting into.”
Shelton reportedly said the production team spent days trying to complete scenes, only to eventually conclude that the project wasn’t worth continuing.
“We kept thinking we were almost finished, but somehow we just kept going back and doing the same things over and over,” Shelton allegedly said. “After 10 days, everybody was exhausted and we finally decided to call it.”
But Shelton’s criticism didn’t stop with the old music video.
The country singer also took aim at Jelly Roll’s recent political controversy, saying he believes the singer made a major mistake by becoming increasingly outspoken.
“Now he’s completely gone woke, and that was the biggest mistake of his life,” Shelton said. “He should’ve just stuck to the music.”
Jelly Roll has recently faced backlash after making jokes about President Donald Trump during his guest-hosting appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The comments sparked strong reactions from some country music fans, with critics accusing the singer of moving away from the audience that helped establish his country career.
Shelton allegedly believes the change didn’t happen overnight.
“I think people just think that he got woke recently, but he always has been,” Shelton said. “We just never called it that way.”
